Harry Karelis will explore the current landscape of innovation in Western Australia, drawing on his diverse experiences across multiple industries. He will then turn his attention to the MedTech sector and AI startups, introducing MediQo—a new venture that leverages AI to assist healthcare professionals. MediQo's platform analyses patient conversations in real-time, providing insights that support diagnosis and treatment planning. This presentation will offer a practical view of how AI is being integrated into healthcare to enhance decision-making and improve patient care. Additionally, Harry will discuss the strategic challenges and opportunities facing new technology startups.”

Harry Karelis is Chairman of the private investment company Gemelli Group and brings over 30 years of experience in capital markets, encompassing roles in financial analysis, funds management, and venture/private equity investing across Australia and internationally. Harry graduated from The University of Western Australia with Bachelors and Honours in Science majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology as well as a Masters in Business Administration. In addition, he also holds a Master of Cyber Security Operations degree from the University of New South Wales/Australian Defence Force Academy. He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute in the United States. Beyond his professional roles, Harry is an active angel investor and board member for several private and public companies. His extensive investment and advisory experience spans various sectors, where he is known for his hands-on, client-focused approach.
